What are you Doing this Summer?

Are you still flipping burgers? Or are you just going to do your normal summer activity of sitting around in a dark basement playing video games? Why not try something different, something that will help you build life skills and provide fun action filled days.

We may need your help! Every year, Camp Potomac employs close to 30 highly motivated individuals to participate in the experience of a lifetime. If you are 14 years of age or older by this summer, why not try exploring new opportunities, and call us today 301-729-1300! We need qualified, committed, mature young adults, both male and female, who are interested in joining the ranks of our current summer camp staff.

This year will set another landmark in the history of the staff at Camp Potomac. The staff village is located in campsite Eagle where each staff member has their own wall tent with electricity. Our Dining Hall will prepare three square meals a day for you and then do your dishes. You will be comfortable living at camp!

Camp Potomac runs three types of summer programs: a Boy Scout Resident Camp, a Cub Scout Resident Camp, and a Cub Scout Day Camp.

Staff Requirements

The minimum age to be on Camp Potomac's Staff is 14. For many positions, including program area director and management positions, individuals are required to be 18 or 21.
Male or Female
No previous summer camp or scouting experience necessary
Be willing to be registered with the BSA
Must be available for the entire summer season, including pre-camp training.

What Camp Potomac Provides Volunteers/Employees:

All necessary training
All meals during the length of service
Housing (canvas tents with bunks and electricity)
Pay (not much, but enough to cover expenses)
Some time off-Weekends, 1 night per week, 1 four day weekend
Experience in: Teaching, presentation, program development/implementation, outdoors
Discount on uniform parts
